I purchased the bunkbeds for my 2 younger boys and they are thrilled to death about it. I didn't assembe it myself- I hired a carpenter to do it. There is no way i would sleep soundly with my kids sleeping in a bed that I'd put together! The carpenters did have a little trouble getting it up, but it looks great. I don't know if it was the carpenter's fault or the construction of the bed itself, but the drawers underneath slide all the way back instead of staying flush to the front of the bed. The only thing- be careful on the stairs if you have younger kids. My 15 month old LOVES to climb the stairs and shimmy off the stairs between the two bunks instead of climbing back down. It scares me to death, but he hasn't gotten hurt once and he does it a million times every day! My 4 year old immediately ran up to claim the top bed as "his bed". Everyone thought the fight would be over having the bottom bunk as it is the bigger bed, but that is not the case. My 15 month old will eventually move from his crib in my bedroom to the bottom bunk.... at which time my 12 year old will be upset because he has been sleeping on the bottom bunk since we got the bed a month ago. This is very upsetting to me because I had redone his bedroom first and he has totally neglected it to sleep in his little brother's room! [...]I also had thought the stairs would be on the right, they are to the left of the bed, so that made me have to reconfigure the design I'd come up with for the room- but it looks great.I love the novelty of the stairs instead of the ladder and my son is so happy to go to bed now.... that alone is a miracle!"..."  Read more

I bought this bed (minus top tent) for my then 2yr old son. He has a very small room and the play area underneath the bed adds to his bedroom playspace. He loved being under the tent part so much that when he turned 4yrs old he wanted to sleep under the bed (on his blow up mattress). My husband put LED rope lighting underneath the bed which works great and is fun for our son to look at. Now we are trying to get him to sleep back on top of the bed and went to our local Bolton dealer to purchase the top part. The bed is very secure, the railing was enough to keep our son safely in the bed even at 2yr old (if you have a child that rolls around a lot at age 2yrs you might consider waiting till they are older). This bed can easily convert into a normal twin when our son gets older. We are very happy with this bed and recommend it!"..."  Read more

We bought the Bolton Low Loft Castle Bed in Natural/Rosewood and ALL the accessories. I was leery of ordering a bed sight unseen but did a lot of research on Bolton products and Wayfair. I have to say we are thrilled with the bed quality! Much sturdier and nicer finishes than we expected for the price. [...].Our 3.5 yo and 18 month old are loving the castle bed, and it's of such good quality that I have no doubt that it will be used as a normal twin bed when he outgrows the low loft. I purchased this bed for my four year old son and he really likes it. It was relatively easy to assemble, easier after I went to the Bolton Furniture website and downloaded the proper instructions, it came with the instructions for a bunk bed. The finish is a nice colour, a little deeper than the website images. The bed is quite sturdy and seems like it will last. The quality of the woodwork is not as nice as I was hoping for, but I guess considering the price, it is OK. The tent fabric is a nice quality cotton, better than I was expecting. Finally I was a little disappointed to see that this furniture is made in China. I had tried to ascertain the country of origin before I ordered this, but my email to Bolton Furniture was unanswered and Wayfair was also not able to tell me.
