Started my now 5 year old Grandson on Magnetic building sets a couple of years ago. After receiving a gift card for Wayfairs, I decided to get a Mega Blocks set for my girls. They already have a Mega Blocks set; and they love it. But this isn't just any ordinary Mega Blocks set.. It's a MINI Mega Blocks set. Each container comes with 40 pieces and a sheet of stickers. You can use the stickers to place on the blocks to make faces, and you can even make a little girl. Both of my girls really love this part of the set. I put it together as soon as I got it, and Sabrina was so excited. All of the blocks are made out of plastic. All of the blocks are 'girl' themed; pink, light blue, purple, and white colored blocks. These blocks are suggested for children 3 years and up. I think this would be a great 'on the go' toy, or maybe I should say 'travel' toy.. They come in a small container so it would be easy to keep in your car instead of packed away in the trunk or suit case. Smaller blocks make it easier and faster to pick up so clean up time is less. My students enjoyed building and testing different amusement rides than can be built with this set. We were able to introduce physics concepts in a fun and meaningful way. Only drawback is that it really takes multiple sets to have enough for all students. I tried using multiple stations, but there weren't enough parts to make more than two items at the same time. Our boys were so excited to add to their train set. They LOVE the Thomas the Engine mega-blocks and this set was no exception. They have loved playing with this Toby set.
