Briefcases

This European (why European?) case replaces a 10 year old nylon Targus bag of nearly identical design. The Targus bag sold for �47 in 1995 and has given excellent service. The Piel bag is ever so slightly larger - a better fit for my new laptop. Some of the fittings are not quite as good as the Targus - strap catches for instance - but this is trivial. There are 2 design changes I would make, apart from improvements to the strap catches. The first is to put more than one buckle hole on the straps for the front catches. This is minor but not everyone has a hole punch that makes a clean finish. The other is to make a moveable shoulder pad and have the shoulder strap parallel rather than shaped. The reason for this change is that I am very tall and by extending the strap to its maximum length the integral shoulder pad is no longer on the shoulder. Twin buckles would be an alternative. Very high quality leather and extra, good looks along with good construction. Good size for daily laptop use. It could have a little more depth- size for travel (extra cord space for hookups, etc.) but a very convenient size, without bulk for daily use."..."  Read more

The briefcase looks really good with saddle leather. It is strong and does not mar easily. The only issue is that the padding on the leather strap is fixed and not very thick; it does not slide down the strap to adjust for different positions."..."  Read more

The order was received within the given time frame and I was very pleased with the product. I gave the briefcase as a gift but was so pleased with the product, I am going to order one for myself.
