My wife is a project coordinator for a nonprofit organization, and I bought this (with a Sony Viao 15.6" laptop inside) as her graduation present. Her initial reaction was that it was pretty big - and that's true. It fits the 15.6" widescreen laptop just fine, and she can put the accessories and a binder or two in the additional pockets. It took her all of three days to get over the size (the shoulder strap works great for her, she rarely uses the rollers), and she rarely goes anywhere work-related without it. In addition to that, her mom, her boss, and several co-workers want one, and asked where I found it. It's very good quality leather, the print is distinct, but all the same color - it's just a cherry red with raised croc-leather patterning. I'd call it a semi-gloss, not quite a gloss - which is just perfect as far as sheen on leather goes. The stitching is strong, I don't see any pulls or popped seams anywhere after two whole months of constant use, and the only scuff she put on the bottom of the briefcase was easily mended. Leather doesn't appear to have taken any damage from it. If I could give half a star, I may be tempted to go for 4.5, if only because the seldom-used wheel+handle system is not as solidly made as I would have wanted. Granted, for a flattened-oval-shaped telescoping handle, it's an acceptable balance between compactness and rigidity. The button for telescoping it out and back in again was a little sticky on this particular one, but not to any significant degree. Overall, this is what I was looking for (as far as price, durability, quality, function, and style), and what my wife wanted (fashion, red croc leather, function, portability). I got this in black for my daughter-in-law who is pregnant and transports a lot of her business work, so a rolling case made sense for her. The bag itself is very attractive and is a very nice quality soft leather. It has a lot of compartments for storage and is roomy but not too big. The biggest selling point for me was the fact that the briefcase is detachable from the base and you can carry it alone using its sturdy handles or shoulder strap. The base is very solid and the wheels roll very smoothly. The handle telescopes and is fairly sturdy. It extends easily but I had to wiggle it a little to get it down all the way. Removing the case from the base is a little bit of a ruckus, it's not difficult but there are several zippers to unzip and then you just have to remember what to do to get it re-attached. It comes with a nylon cover you can use if it's raining, no big deal but a nice accessory. It's a beautiful bag and very functional. I'm very pleased with the purchase."..."  Read more

The most striking thing about the Ballistic Computer Brief is that it is rugged and durable. The outside is comprised of sturdy black canvas and rubber that allows it to take a daily beating without so much as a little scuff (I prefer to call them personality marks). The bag also comes with a shoulder sling that is adjustable and comfortable. There are three primary pockets: front, middle and back. The front pocket is the only one that can be accessed without un-velcro-ing the carrying handle atop the bag. This pouch is sealed by a velcro flap, and is then guarded by further interior velcro. This can be quite noisy and disruptive if you're sitting in one of those outrageously quiet library study rooms, but other than that it's no cause for concern. The front pocket has space for pens and pencils, mobile devices, a wallet, and other assorted portables. The back pocket is somewhat useless and can only really hold flat, skinny objects. Anything else simply won't work. It's also a hassle to access quickly because it requires undoing the main velcro handle. However, the real action takes place in the middle pocket. Technically this pocket comes with two pouches. The smaller of the two is great for holding a laptop power cord and/or an ethernet cable. Then there's the larger pouch that comes with a removable, protective laptop soft shell case. This is tremendously valuable and adds to the durability of the entire bag. There is also enough space for a notebook and regular book without being overloaded - just enough to get me through a typical day. This item is of excellent size for every day business and for travel ventures. The material is durable and there are many convenient pockets. My intent for purchase was to have a bag large enough to carry the little extras on board a plane. There are large pockets on the outside for easy access.
