I bought three bookcaes from Sauder 12 years ago. My old bookcases are still OK. My library has grown substantially, so I decided to buy five more bookcases. The Sauder bookshelf is the perfect height and width for doing a lot with small spaces (see original review, below, for pictures). It took more assembly than I expected, and I needed a screwdriver and hammer. Once I got over the intimidating idea of using a hammer, it really wasn't hard. I can say I built a bookshelf all by myself now! It's very stable and strong, but not too heavy. The shelves are adjustable, though the pegs are a bit of a tight fit, so it may be difficult to actually go about adjusting them. I purchased two bookcases as I wanted to make an impact on one wall in my bedroom and have lots of shelves for books and keepsakes,too. I assembled the bookcases myself and the directions were easy to follow. I had expected them to be whiter in color, but that is acceptable.
