The color is a warm expresso with the hint of cherry. I have a variety of things on it, and it keeps it from looking messy. The stylish legs add a little something to keep it from looking like just any bookcase. Easy assembly. Did it by myself in just a hour with many phone interruptions. I do like the Bush quality compaired to many other brands. It was boxed well and all the parts were there, except the screw covers, which Bush will send me. This bookshelf is very study. It can hold my hard copy books alright. It is also easy to assemble. But it is quite heavy, so you want to assemble it near the place where you want to put it."
