Bookcases

High end, short wall bookcases to go with upscale furniture are hard to find. This one can also be an attractive TV stand. So from the picture and description we felt confident to go with these. There are actually three cases that fit together almost seamlessly to make one extended bookcase. We ordered this for our library and are very pleased. Only disappointment was that two bookcases were manufactured incorrectly. If the manufacturer had tried to install the shelves it would have been apparent that two of the sides-- which are predrilled for movable shelving options--were not properly aligned. The sides were likely installed upside down on each bookcase resulting in shelves that could not be made level. Since we weren't going to ship them back, the fix was to carefully measure and drill new holes for the shelving pegs without drilling all the way through the sides of the bookcases. Since we only wanted the shelves in one fixed elevation to match the correctly-made bookcase, just eight holes had to be redrilled. But this was a minor inconvenience considering how beautiful they are and otherwise well constructed. This is a GORGEOUS bookshelf. The lights are a nice touch and it makes a statement in my living room. Two reasons I did not give this a 5: 1) the lights have a gold rim and casing (which I'm sure are easily replaced) and 2) it would be better if it had a switch for the lights. I was prepared that it is not white, white. It would look slightly better in my room if it were because I have white trim. It is a beautiful bookcase. It is used in my seven year-old daugthers bedroom and match her furniture well. It is sturdy and easy to assemble."

This bookcase is extremely sturdy and great quality. It came assembled and I just had to place the shelves to the heights I wanted. Estimated delivery date given at time of purchase was almost a month away but it did arrive about a week before the estimated date."..."  Read more
