Big enough for lamp, books, etc. on top but the tables don't overwhelm the room, which they share. The shelf below is the perfect size for a storage bin (standard dimensions) and the drawer slides are very smooth. Overall an attractive, study piece -- especially for the price. Compared it to Crate&Barrel, Pottery barn, etc. and found nothing better. Especially with the free shipping! Service Review Prompt order confirmation and incredibly fast delivery -- plus the shipping was free, which made this purchase so much more affordable than anything else I found! I was looking the best nightstand I could find for the money, but that did not require assembly, so I looked for a long time. When this one arrived I was very happy with my choice! Very solid piece with a beautiful finish (true white, not off-white or antiqued); drawer is roomy enough for books, flashlight, etc. and open & closes smoothly.
