delivery, assembly, usage issues from Penticton, BC on 10/29/2014 – Verified Buyer
Been using it only for a few days. There are/were some issues:
1. Delivery: Ordered Sep.5, told expect it in my local area Oct.7 (over a month). I thought it would arrive next day after that but told "scheduled delivery Oct.11 9am-1pm". I stayed home to receive it. Nobody showed up in that window. Called delivery company, they said they did not have a window scheduled, it would probably arrive anytime after 8pm. This being Thanksgiving long-weekend, I had dinner plans with relatives from out of town. They said if I wasn't home, they were going to leave this $1600 item on my doorstep (where it would probably get stolen). Unbelievable. So I had to dash out in the middle of dinner with friends & relatives to come home to receive it. 0 stars out of 5 for delivery (blame Wayfair, not Body-Solid).
2. Assembly: There is little guidance about how to locate this thing in a room (how much room it needs on each side). Looking at the poster, I guesstimated you need to have lots of room behind and to the right rear of the unit. You don't want to try to move it again after you assemble it. Came with a faded, unclear assembly manual. There are lots of parts in this thing and it took lots of hours to put together. I had to download & print a clearer manual from website. Unfortunately the parts were labelled differently from the shipped manual. Body-Solid needs to put some serious effort into creating a decent assembly manual. 2 stars out of 5 for assembly.
3. Usage: There is no manual about how to use this thing, believe it or not! There is a poster, which is some help but I'm still not sure if I'm using it properly. Body-Solid needs to provide some videos of each exercise on the website. Secondly, 5 of the 21 exercises on the poster require an optional Stirrup Handle. I think this should have been included as standard equipment. The unit does seem solidly built. I had to grease the weight poles to get them to operate smoothly (not mentioned in manual). The Bench Press Frame comes back too far, it should have an adjustment on it. You can't get any leaverage to get it started, and you could hurt yourself if you're not careful as it comes back far enough to dislocate your shoulder joints. 3 stars out of 5 for usage.
Overall: It's not a bad unit, but it needs a decent delivery, Assembly Manual, Usage Manual, and standard Stirrup Handle. If it had those, I'd had given it 3 or 4 out of 5 stars.

Perfect gym for my needs from Indianapolis, IN on 06/02/2013 – Verified Buyer– Top 500 Reviewer
I have used this home gym for several months and it continues to function very smoothly. The variety of exercises I can do with this gym is good. Once the home gym is assembled, it is easy to use and switch out accessories.

Excellent gym from Wyevale, ON on 09/29/2014 – Verified Buyer
This gym has almost everything you need in a home gym and is quite space-saving. Visitors often inquire about it as it is a nice looking piece of equipment.

Good Home Gym, cumbersome assembly from Middletown, CT on 10/24/2011 – Verified Buyer
It's a good home gym for someone who's looking to get or stay in shape. It's not top of the line gym equipment, but it's pretty decent for the price, once you've finally put it together. Assembly was horrible with many pieces, lots of hardware and worst of all, some of the parts mentioned in the setup instructions must have been replaced by other parts which were not mentioned in the instructions and you have to identify them based on what's shown in the assembly drawings. Took me almost over 7 hours to put together. If you have the patience, go for it.

My 14 year old uses it, he likes it a lot. It is a pretty compact design. He was able to assemble it himself in 1 day.

Great Home Gym from Lititz, PA on 01/03/2010 – Verified Buyer
I use the exercise equipment 3-4 times a week. It was fairly easy to set up. The hardest part was separating the different bolts. Well worth the money. It is very sturdy and operates very smoothly.

needlessly time-consuming assembly from Boulder, CO on 11/06/2011 – Verified Buyer
* assembly instructions are poor -- parts identification figures are so small (especially for bolts) that identification is extremely difficult -- assembly time conservatively increased by a factor of 3 because of difficulties in identifying parts.
* one pulley bracket was defective -- replacement was promptly provided
* seat lowering/raising is very difficult
* overall construction is good for this price range
