Stabilizes Crunch Exercise
Gerard from Bayonne, NJ– Verified Buyer
I've used this product for a couple of years now to do abdominal crunches. I have herniated disks and my Doctor advised me to strengthen my core. Before I used this, I used wrist straps on my overhead pulley machine. When they wore out I used this. The grip was more stable than the wraps. However, I don't use the device as shown in the picture. I lean into the harness and execute the crunch while sitting on the edge of my bench. I do it this way because I use heavier weights. If you wish to do it as shown in the picture you are limited to lighter weights. Overall, it has held up well.
Takes getting Used To It, But Good!

This was awkward at first for myself - a woman. i was really looking forward to it replacing the dual-straps accessory I was using. When I first used it, It felt like the neck should be cut up higher to allow your hands to be placed lower along your chest. (Notice that the man in the picture has his hands VERY HIGH up on his upper body, near his collarbone.) I even set it aside for a while, and only used it minimally, because it felt awkward to have my hands up so high - I kept wanting to be able to pull it down lower - but the neckline does not allow it to come down lower. I now have found myself using it more and more, after three months, and have learned to position my body to use it for many different sets. It is so much more comfortable and EASIER on the hands than the strap attachments. I have almost replaced all my strap attachment sets with this one! Would still love to have another one with a higher cut neckline so your hands can come down a little lower but I am heading to this one much more than the dual-hand straps for comfort on the hands while getting a good work-out!
Ab Crunch Harness

I like using the harness better than the tricep extention strap. On the heavier weights I need to use gloves so the stitching doesnt dig into my hands. This does however help me to use proper form and get the most out of doing the ab crunch and working my obliques.
There doesn't have to be pain!

I have the Body Solid 3000 home gym. The harness that came with the ab station had very little support around the shoulders. With every use the narrow straps would dig into my shoulders and cause me pain. Not the kinda pain I was after! I ordered this newer version as a remedy. I am very impressed as to the vast improvement in design. With its extra wide padded webbing and attached grips I now experience no strap pain at all, just a great workout. I highly recommend this product.
Turning my 12 pack into a Six Pack!

Excellent for re-introducing situps to your lifestyle/workout. My torso is long, I have a very bad neck and lower back, and have had two hernia operations in less than a year, which makes traditional situps very painful. With the Ab Crunch Harness I first set the weight at 20 lbs and could complete a workout. In one month I'm at 35lbs and starting to feel and see noticable differences. The harness protects my neck and back while strenghening my abdomen. If you don't have a cable-based home gym like I do you can attach rubber cables to the harness and a door while sitting in a chair.

I recently broke a harness that wasn't made as well, this one is too strong to break, I'm glad I got it.
great product - works well

Use this product several times a week and works well for resistance for crunches and I don't have to invest in a machine that only does one thing.
