I purchased these glasses for formal use as well as every day use. These glasses are feather-light, even with two layers of glass. I was amazed at how light they were and afraid to use them for fear of breaking. I have been using 'my' glass every day since purchasing and can tell you these glasses are very durable. They work exactly as described, keeping hot liquids hot and cool liquids cool. I was drinking ice water the other day. Cubes last longer in these glasses than any other 'insulated' glass I've owned.
