Having only used large verticle feeders previously this looked like a good alternative in capacity and convenience since it held more seed and required less hanging space. There does seem to be less commotion among the birds that are feeding but the slots around the tray are too large and permit excess food to be wasted. This has been controlled somewhat by inserting plastic shields made from a milk carton to partially close the slots. The curved hanging loop has large openings which might make it vunerable to blowing down in a heavy wind. Overall, it is satisfactory."..."  Read more

I put this feeder on the railing of our deck and the birds love it! The squirrels visit it too, but I enjoy feeding them also."
