Great car for little kids - replacement motor & gearbox common with Kalee 6V Motorcycle from USA on 03/27/2015
Had the car for a few years for one child, our 2nd (set - twins) have worn out the motor. Was looking for spare parts, and couldn't find a motor for the car. Took a chance and ordered the Kalee 6V gearbox for the motorcycle (KL-30040_6v_Gearbox_Assembly), hoping it would have a common motor I could use. The whole gearbox assembly (including the motor) is common, and the car is now back up and operational. Note: the battery wears out (I've been through 3 already), they're pretty cheap to buy to replace. Bit of a pain to replace them (you need to solder a bit), but nothing complicated. Fun toy for the very small kids

Pros: looks good, slow, safe
Cons: battery replacement needs a soldering iron (or install your own terminal lugs)

Good Luck Replacing the Battery from NC on 05/19/2012
The car is a lot of fun... until the battery is drained to the point of not holding the charge. The car had about 30 minutes of fun in it when the battery was fully charged when new. Unfortunately, after of only about 6-8 uses the battery was pretty much drained within 5 minutes of use. I followed the instructions for how to recharge the battery per the instruction manual to a "T", so that was not the problem. Having removed the seat to take a look at how the battery is installed, I realized that the wiring is SOLDERED ON to the battery terminals!!! REALLY KALEE!?!?!? What are users supposed to do? Cut the wires and solder them back on to the new battery's terminals? This is ridiculous! If you are considering buying this car, you have to be aware that you are effectively buying a disposable toy... unless you are an electrician and have a soldering iron and electrical solder readily available and know how to use it. I am VERY disappointed in this product and feel cheated by the manufacturer. I will not buy anything from Kalee ever again.

Overall nice ride on toy, with a few downsides. from Riverside, CA on 01/02/2012 – Verified Buyer
Purchased this car for my two year old and am overall happy with it. Obviously the major plus side is the cool classic car styling. Its a decent length (this is no mini Cooper!!) and for the most part is well done in molded plastic (front grille, windshield, headlights, actual spare tire...). The dashboard and side panel have stickers. The remote control aspect is a really nice feature, but does have a slight delay in response time. The cars top speed is a bit on the slow side.
