"Hello Sam, you could get either height foundation, it really depends on how high you like your bed to be. If you like a taller bed then I would suggest getting the 9" profile foundation and if you prefer a lower bed then I suggest the 5" profile foundation."

Not a platform bed

A single 2x4 down the middle does not a platform make. It's not really low profile bed either considering a box spring is a MUST with this bed as it is not a platform bed. When you add a boxspring the top of your mattress will end up being about 30 inches off the ground. We are now looking for a box spring that is both low profile and will support our foam mattress so we can actually get some semblance of what this bed claims to be in the description. The bed is just as pictured above except the leather headboard is in reality a medium tan color.
