Rebekah from Wayfair

?
“Hey. I am interested in ordering the Berg Furniture 22-905-XX - Sierra Captain's Bed for Two with Stairs for my daughters room, however, I don't need the bottom bed for a couple of years. Instead, you also offer FX1019 which has another set of six drawers and a tiny set of shelves. This is what I would like to start with. What I want to know is if FX1019 can convert to FX1021? If so, how do I purchase the separate pieces I need to do this? ” asked by Laurence

A.
"Hello Laurence. You can indeed convert one into the other. To do this, you will need to purchase the bottom bed and the housing (the cube the bottom bed goes into). Currently we do not have these options available, but if you were to contact us when you are ready to make the conversion, I can have them added to our catalog so you can purchase them."
Leonila from Wayfair

?
“Hi, I noticed that there are limited dimensions on this furniture. Please provide additional dimensions, including the width of the two twin beds. Thank you.” asked by David

A.
"Hello David, the width of this item is 39". That is for each of the two twin sized beds."
Vennie from Wayfair

?
“Hey. Can you tell me what the diagonal depth of this bed is?” asked by Julian

A.
"Hey Julian. The correct diagonal depth of this bed is 95"."
Brandon from Wayfair

?
“Hi, my query is regarding the Berg Sierra Captain's Bed for Two with Stairs. Can you specify its dimensions? ” asked by Ellen

A.
"Hello Ellen, the bunk bed dimensions are 47" H x 97" W x 95" D. The stair portion of the bed is 45" D. Each bed is approximately 41" wide and the bedrail board is 13" high from the bottom of the bed frame."
Stella from Wayfair

?
“Hi. Why do the listed dimensions of the full over twin and the twin over twin vary so much? The full over twin says lists the depth as 57.25", and the twin over twin states the depth is 95". Are both dimensions correct? If so, why does the twin over twin option stick out 95"? That is almost 8 feet and I know a standard twin bed (for lower bunk) is not that long. Please help.” asked by Corey

A.
"Hey Corey. The depth listed for the twin is actually the diagonal depth from the back corner to the 'front corner' where the stairs and bottom bed would meet if they were extended out further."
Brandon from Wayfair

?
“Hey. In regards to the lower bunk- can a child fit facing the other way, i.e. under the upper bunk?” asked by Charlie

A.
"Hi Charlie. It would depend on the child's height whether or not they can sit under the space in question. Eventually they will out grow being able to sit there. In addition it is not meant to sit under comfortably."
Michael from Wayfair

?
“Hey. Do standard twin sheets fit these beds?” asked by Tina

A.
"Hi Tina. The twin sheets will fit both beds. The only manufacture instruction regarding the beds is that the mattress for the top bunch needs to be at least 6" thick or less."
Jamie from Wayfair

?
“Hey. How many cubby holes does this item have?” asked by John

A.
"Hi John. This item now only has one cubby hole on the side of the stairs, and the opening on the headboard for the bottom bed is no longer there."
Megan from Wayfair

?
“Hi, I'm looking at Berg Furniture Sierra Captain's Bed. Can the beds be configured the opposite way so the bottom bed and the drawers would be switched? ” asked by Kim

A.
"Hello Kim. The bed and dresser in this are interchangeable."
Nicholas from Wayfair

?
“Hey. Can the set be bought without the bottom bunk? We only want the loft bed with the rest of the set. ” asked by Jarvis

A.
"Hi Jarvis. This unit is only currently available with the stairs included."
Gregory from Wayfair

?
“Hi, if a standard twin mattress is 80" long, why is the depth 95"?” asked by Kelso

A.
"Hello Kelso. With this bed, the dimensions for the length and width are taking into account the cubby and stairs at each end of the beds."

Best-looking space-saving bunk bed out there!

We bought this bed for our 7 and 2-year old kids. The older one immediately occupied the top bed, obviously, since it's only for kids 6 and up. But even the little one can easily climb onto the lower bed (we use regular twin size mattresses for both beds). And let me just say that this is absolutely the best-looking, most sturdy, space-saving bunk bed on the market -- I've done a lot of research before settling on this one! Ours is in natural maple finish with pastel blue drawer knobs.

Great Bunk Bed

We purchased this bunk bed for our 2 grand-daughters (ages 4 and 2) and it's a perfect fit. The bed is great quality and wasn't terribly difficult to assemble. The girls love the bed and they are very comfortable. Their parents are pleased as well with the low-height and the storage capabilities. Great product!

Great bunk beds!!

We purchased these for our 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. They were delivered on time in great condition and were easy to assemble, however you need two strong people as the preassembled pieces are very heavy. The top bunk is low enough that my daughter can stand without hitting her head. I was worried that my son would have trouble getting to sleep because he would be staring at his sister from the bottom bunk but when they are both lying down you can't see the person on the top bunk. It suggests using thinner mattresses but we used normal sized twin mattresses on both the bottom and top and they work great. There is still enough of a side on the top bunk that my daughter can't roll off. The drawers all glide very smoothly and I was impressed with the depth. These bunk beds are very good quality and I am very happy we decided to spend the extra money and get a good set. You won't be disappointed.

Really Great - except for assembly directions

I love these bunk beds and so does my 4-year-old granddaughter who sleeps in them. She sleeps in the top bunk which is very cozy in its little box. The drawers are roomy. I love that the head of the bottom bunk is not under the top bunk, thus eliminating a child's fear that the top bunk will fall on them. These beds are a great space saver and well-designed. I bought my own knobs for them because I didn't like the rubbery plastic knobs that came with them. Also, I successfully put it together by myself but the directions tell you to attach screws into places that don't exist or that the screws they give you won't reach. Nonetheless, it feels sturdy once assembled. I'm really very happy with them.

Nice roomy drawers and easy for kids to get in and out. Easy to assemble, would have liked real wood though.

Love it!

Product Review

We bought this bed for our 3 year-old daughter, with plans to move her 1 year-old sister into her room in a year or so. We chose it because it is not as tall as a regular bunk bed. Between that and the use of stairs instead of a ladder, it was the safest bunk bed we could find. (Not to mention how cute it was in the pictures.) Once we had it assembled, it exceeded all expectations. The stairs are easy to navigate, it looks fantastic, and it has tons of storage. Our daughter loves it! She sleeps in the lower bunk for now, and uses the upper bunk for playing and reading. Once she's a little older, we'll be comfortable having her sleep up there, and will move her sister into her room. Regarding price - I searched far and wide for something comparable, and came up empty. There is nothing out there that has these same features at this price. The quality is great - it's solid and sturdy, the drawers slide easily and aren't crooked, and the whole thing is squared up well. I have bought a lot of assemble-yourself furniture, and most is not of this quality. (Side note - the photo shows some storage cubbies to the right of the stairs. Those cubbies don't exist on our assembled unit. There is a small space at the floor level, but no cute shelves. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Another review indicated the cubbies do work out if you assemble the other way.)

Service Review

It took a long time to receive everything in good shape, but the service from Wayfair couldn't have been better. The original delivery was delayed by 2 weeks, on top of the estimated wait time of 4-6 weeks. The shipping company forgot to put the bed on the truck bound for our area, and they only come up our way every 2 weeks. Then, when the shipment did arrive, there were a couple of missing items and some damaged items. I contacted Wayfair, and they immediately sent out replacements. The second delivery also arrived damaged and with a missing item. I told Wayfair we would live with the damage, since it was much less severe than the original shipment, but that we did need the missing item. Wayfair replaced the damaged item anyway, which was great, and sent the missing piece. Both replacements were sent FedEx, which meant very quick service. I would happily purchase from Wayfair again.

Mom of Twins in MT

We bought this bed for our 4 yr old twin girls. The steps are great. A lot better than a ladder. The extra storage drawers are wonderful and hold a lot of clothes/toys. The directions for putting the bed together were confusing. Also, the first shipment the base was damaged and I had to wait a couple of months before I got a replacement.

Like them

I like the bunkbeds but they are very difficult to change the sheets. I have had quite a few sheets rip on the bottom bunk when trying to get them off.

Love this bed!

I have 4 yr old twin girls that I bought this bed for and they love it. Their room is small, so this bed was a good fit. The extra storage drawers both under the bed and in the steps have been wonderful. It took more time to put together because the directions were not very clear, but it was worth it!
