I purchased this for my mother as a christmas present as she has difficulties getting her woodstove going. Id spent many days researching other products and , due to the favorable reviews, Ichose this item over many others.
It arrived earlier than expected, in excellent condition and was a beautifully crafted and well made product.
The real proof was when my Mom first used it, she was amazed at how little effort produced such a large flame and two small poofs was all it took to ignite the fire!
Thank you for making my Mom so happy, this will be used daily and save my Mom a lot of frustration and time, an excellent product and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and useful product! Solid maple, 3/4" thick; soft, heavy-duty leather; solid brass nozzle; and hand-hammered brass tacks comprise an extremely well-made tool of the old days. In fact, it looks like it could have been made in the old days. You can see the hand craftsmanship in the unperfect tack line-up. Be prepared, though; these weigh about 3-4 pounds. Solid maple is a heavy wood. But you know these are going to last a long time. I would have expected to pay double what these cost for this level of quality. And do they work? They most certainly do. I have a rather low grate so it's hard for it to take in enough oxygen to start and maintain a good fire. These bellows solved that problem. Also good for blowing ash where you want it to go.
