Bedroom Sets

I hesitated to purchase the Newport Platform bedroom set for [$] sight unseen, since it would be a major hassle if I'd hated it! But after reading 20+ positive reviews & comparing furniture store prices with online prices, I took the plunge & ordered the platform bed, 2-drawer bedside table, and the 5-drawer dresser, and couldn't be happier with my selection. The workmanship is excellent, everything works flawlessly and I've found no imperfections. The dresser & bedside table comes with both pewter/silver & red knobs for the drawers so you can switch them out according to your color scheme. I'm ordering the 1-drawer end table to complete the set since I like this furniture so much. The wood is made of tropical mahogany and has a rich, lustrous appearance, & a reddish hue that doesn't show up too well online. My friends & family are all envious of my new bedroom furniture. I've had the bedroom set over a month now and have had no negative issues. After shopping for a platform bed with clean lines and reasonable price in a lot of local stores [...] we bought this bed. I have read most reviews on this bed before purchasing. We could not be much more happier with this purchase. The bed looks great in our master bedroom. Simple and elegant. Feels Sturdy.They have added height adjustment to the middle legs (that support the slats). They work well. The side table did not look like a perfect match. With regard to the above reviewer in Dayton...the downside to the internet buying age is that SOME people fail to educate themselves properly and make mistakes that probably wouldn't happen had they gone into a retailer's showroom and had the sales person explain it to them. A low profile bed is meant to be used with a low profile box spring or pallet. I'm willing to bet that the reviewers complaining of lack of support are trying to put the mattress directly on the supports, which is NOT how this setup is supposed to be used. The pallet or box spring is meant for support, as opposed to the platform beds which have 12 or so slats. A platform bed is meant for the mattress to go straight on it. When used properly, this is a great looking, sturdy bed mostly due to the height adjustable extra center legs which prevent 'sway'. The only downside for me is that this is a rather large bed and the room I put it in is small-ish, so it takes up a lot of space. But a great set nonetheless."..."  Read more
