it's not often that I happen upon a device as flexible at doing a relatively simple job as this charger.
It can connect by plugging into the vehicle power socket, clipped onto a batteries terminals, or screwed directly to the tabs on a small battery. It is no big deal to switch from one set up to another.
I use the power socket connector to keep the car battery charged when I'm camping, the ring terminals on my small backup battery, and the clamps on my deep cycle marine battery.
It can be hung on a hook, screwed onto any flat surface, or attach magnetically.
It has nice, long, heavy cables and a case that easily survived my dropping it a couple of times. It looks like arugged piece of equipment and it is.
The frosting on the cake is that it does exactly what it is supposed to. On all three batteries it gave a full charge, then shifted into a "float charge" wherein a charge is maintained without overcharging.
Even with a little 2 amp charger I have seen others get a little over exuberant and start slowly cooking a battery. Not a good idea, especially when turned on and left on its own for months at a time.
I've had it five months, if the components inside are anything like the exterior package, I'll be leaving it to someone in my will in 20 or 30 years.
I'm not easy to impress. I have seen far too much equipment that performs marginally (if at all) then proceeds to barely survives the warranty. You know, $800 washing machines, $1000 refrigerators, $900 camcorders. Top prices paid for things that only last five or six years..
Many times I have said that they don't make things like they used to. This device is an exceptional exception."..." Read more
