Canwood Furniture Base Camp Twin Loft Bed
Nice looking, easy to assemble, not too sturdy
Kristin from Ridgewood, NY– Verified Buyer
It's nice to have an inexpensive loft bed delivered to your door. The directions were easy. Although pay very close attention to the lettered stickers, because some parts look the same. I don't see this lasting beyond this one move. If you attempt to tighten the bolts, they begin to strip the wood. Our floor is uneven, so it needed evening out with furniture pads. It's still a little shaky. I think I might use a metal L-joint and affix the back side to the wall.

I have to say that my experience of receiving and assembling this piece has been very mixed. I do like the completed chest and am glad I bought it. However my delivery instructions were ignored and 90 lb box was left in apartment managers office approximately 1/2 mile from my front door. Could not lift it to get it in my car let alone get it up my single flight of stairs. Had to open box in office and carry all the little pieces to the car, drive to home, then carry them up my stairs to my door. Why delivery person with dolly could not have just left it at door as requested, I don't know. As far as assembly, this piece took a very long time to put together for several preventable reasons. (And I have put together a lot of furniture in my time.) There are no written instructions, only pictures. Pictures often are very small and even with magnifier were hard to dechipher. Hardware was missing. Several pieces of hardware were drawn incorrectly and looked nothing like those pictured. Many holes were not predrilled. The backing was too small and to place the screws in the holes and screw them in resulted in driving screws through the side of the wood and into the shelf space about 5 times. Because you perform this procedure with the front of the chest on the floor you cannot see the damage until you finish all the back screws. Drawers are hard to get squared due to lack of predrilled holes. That said the doors went on easily and I had no problem getting them flush as shown in the pictures. Drawers went on tracks easily as well, but only after wrestling them into submission trying to get them square. Paint job has many flaws, but I always planned to repaint. I love the design with the shelves on top and drawers below. Plus the size is exactly as specfied and fits my closet well. Glad I bought it, as said, but wish it were designed more thoughtfully for ease of assembly.

Great piece for son with some minor issues
Katherine from Washington, DC– Verified Buyer
Took my husband and I two hours or so to put together (which isn't entirely surprising). Wood is a bit soft, so is susceptible to scratches and dings right out of the box. Some holes weren't drilled through so we had to finish the job. Also the warning lables/stickers on the furniture are a huge pain to remove. All in all very happy w it. Allows for more floorspace for son's small room.
Worst bed we have ever purchased. Such bad customer service from the manufacturer.
Charlene from Denver, CO– Verified Buyer
After reading the reviews on many wooden loft beds for our six year old we finally decided on this item (wasn't the cheapest but the color was perfect and it had good reviews) however, upon the item been delivered, one piece was cracked and lots of the other pieces were scratched and dented (no damage to the packaging it arrived in)
Great Product, Better Price
Zachary from Williamsville, NY– Verified Buyer
This bed is indeed solid pine and relatively simple to assemble. My son loves it. The only downside is that the maximum weight it claims it can hold is 165 lbs (mattress + occupant). That being said, this bed has has made the room much more spacious and is far and away the best deal for a loft bed I could find. I also upholstered the bottom so that you can't see the slat supports for the mattress any longer and used glow in the dark paint to make the night sky. I just wish it were a little sturdier so that we could get more years out of it than we will.
SOLID WOOD DEAL!
Carrah from Keene, NH– Verified Buyer
Impressed with the quality of the materials and the relative ease in assembly...a bit surprised that when our 80 pound child laid down, however. The wooden slats bowed (minimally but I still noticed) and we are thinking about reinforcing the mattress support system. For the price, there simply is no better deal. It is a beautiful color (we ordered the cherry) and my son enjoys climbing the ladder to go to bed...everything we were looking for in a transitional loft bed, a necessity due to our small space (10'x11' bedroom).

Put up the loft bed about a week ago. Takes two people to put together and instructions are just "Okay", could be a little clearer. You have to use just the pictures, there are no written instructions. Other then that we really like it so far. Sturdy enough but you should watch the weight restrictions. Our daughter is 13 and is happy with our choice.
Nice and Cheap
Ona from Oakland, CA– Verified Buyer
This bed was pretty easy to assemble by myself, but some of the pieces were damaged and I had to improvise. The wooden piece that connects the ladder to the rail had knots in it that were impossible to screw into. The ladder did not sit squarely on the floor and the whole thing moved around a bit. It's impossible to remove the stickers without damaging the finish on the wood. It was very cheap and looks good now, but it needed replacement parts and structural reinforcement.
two for my kids
katrena from denver, CO– Verified Buyer
I bought two of these for my kids for Christmas. I think they are easy to put together and I love that they are real wood not pressed wood. The only thing pulling down the rating is that some of the pieces were cracked some of the holes were not properly drilled and the headboard was not glued together good

Product lived up to expectations. East to assemble and sturdy, attractive too.
