Do not put in dishwasher or put any stress on the sides of the glass. Glass is very thin and brittle. Hand wash after using and air dry. I've been using these for about 2 weeks now. I haven't cracked or broken them yet! :) I needed some glasses for serving company. These are a little plain, a little simple, but do the job. I like the concave form of the glasses-- they are easy for my smaller hands to hold. The base is thick and sturdy, so I know even if I bonk the glass with my hand (yea, I'm clumsy), the glass will not tip over. So for quality of design, they get an "A." For beauty, well, maybe a "B." There are prettier glasses out there, but probably not at this price. For basic, everyday glasses or serving tea when your friend visits, these are perfect. Overall I love the Ultima Thule design. I used to live in Finland and this pattern evokes many memories for me. The one thing I would like to improve is the descriptors of the glasses. Iittala gives the glasses names like "whisky sour" and "old fashioned" and then "double old fashioned." Unless a person wants a few of eight different styles, it is hard to determine what glass is the most useful cocktail glass. I purchased the highball which is right for a highball or even a beer, but instead of "old fashioned" I think "double old fashioned" would be the better size for a drink like a gin- or vodka- tonic."..."
