<strong>Tempo</strong> New Rochelle 26" Stool

My main objectives, when STARTING my bar stool search, were to find bar stool that matched my decor, had a clean/contemporary look, and didn't cost an arm and and leg.I went to a local barstool store and quickly discovered that most bar stools were uncomfortable. The cusions are very soft and provide no support at all. Sit on the stool for more than a few minutes and it feels like you are sitting on a bare wood barstool. The back supports are not angled correctly, forcing you to hunch or otherwise sit in an uncomfortable position. Most back supports are also the wrong hieght so they dig into your lower back when you lean back. The bar stools that are in the $100-$200 price range are really cheap. So, after spending about two hours testing bar stool, this New Rochelle barstool was the clear winner. The cusion is thick and supportive. The back is angled perfectly and is rounded so it kind of "hugs" you. The price is in the higher-mid range. Assembly of the bar stool war very simple, but it would have been nice if instructions were included.The only issues I have are: ALL bar stools are over-pricedThere were no assembly instructionsThe only reason that I don't give it a 5-star rating is because I wanted a more modern look and bar stool prices are too high - all bar stools, not just this one. The directions wer easy to understand and the bar stools were assembled in less than 30 minutes. I love the color and how nice they look with my island. Bought these bar stools for a bar I just built for my basement. After going to various stores with floor models I discovered just how pricey bar stools can be. After doing a bit of online shopping I came across these stools that go well with my wood heavy basement bar decor. The price of five of these stools was about the same as one bar stool of similar style in the stores. Like most people I bought one first to check it out, then bought three more. They are not that difficult to put together, but with allen wrenches everything takes a bit longer and power tools wouldn't work as well in this case anyway. They are larger than they appear - the cushion seems to be at least 16" in diameter, but I have not measured it. This extra size makes it feel oh-so-comfy. We bought these to be used at a breakfast bar opposite the kitchen island. When not in use they tuck neatly under the counter so don't really take up that much room. We had thought about getting stools with backs on them, but were glad we didn't since swiveling would cause the back to smash into the counter and we are the kind of people who really like to swivel. I am pretty sure it would be hard to beat these stools in the comfort category. Good height for average size people to just "slide on". The little footies are covered with a plastic coating so they won't scratch wood floors, but just in case we added some of those little sticky pads anyway.
