We purchased two of the 30 inch Carol custom stools and two "non-cushion" Aloha barstools for our 43 inch tall kitchen bar to try and cut down the overall cost (by not buying 4 of these more expensive stools). We purchased the 30 inch stool and found the height to be much better than the 29 inch Aloha stools we purchased. We've had the stools for approximately 2.5 months and we wished we would have paid the extra money to buy 4 of the Carol stools.They look great, and are far more comfortable with the cushion and back rest on them. There are 4 of us in our family and we often race to the bar to get the "good stool" (Carol stool) first. That kind of says it all![...] We discovered that we have additional room for more barstools and will definitely be purchasing the Carol stools. I was a bit nervous about ordering bar stools on-line, but these are fabulous. All the stools I'd looked at just didn't seem strong enough - especially with a husband who is 6'1" and weighs 260 lbs! I knew he would be sliding back on the stools and wanted something that could handle some abuse, and also look good at our new higher level kitchen counter. These stools get an A plus on both counts. Attractive (love the warm maple colour of the wood), lots of color choices for the padded cushion, and very comfortable. They arrived at my door fully assembled, so unlike our old stools we won't have to be tightening up the legs all the time. I highly recommend these stools!"..."  Read more

We were looking for a slightly taller than usual bar stool as the bar in our home theater was a few inches taller than typical, We had usual height bar stools in the kitchen that we tried in the theater and it was clear that people under 6 feet would need a phone book on the seat to get high enough to see the whole screen. So we looked for something taller and found these. perfect in every way. There were many, many finish choices. There were no flaws in the ones we got. I spent over a year looking for barstools for a spectator height bar a contractor built me during a kitchen remodel. I should have insisted he build a lower bar, as the stools are hard for even adults to get in and out of easily (36" seat height).
