We recently had our kitchen remodeled and looked at well over 200 barstools before choosing these. My hubby is 6'3" and thin; I am only 5'2" and not-so-thin--so finding something that we both thought was comfortable was a challenge. This is really important since our custom is for him to read aloud to me while I cook. Unless we have guests--then those are the cocktail hour seats. These are the most comfortable barstools ever! All of our friends have said so also--they are the perfect height and the seats are both wide enough and cushy enough. One especially good feature is the back height--much better than usual. They also feel stable and do not have that rickety feeling of many bar stools this height (we have the taller size). Finally, they look great. We chose a light wood and the blue seat cushion. We have a gourmet kitchen with all the bells and whistles - name the top brand and it has it. We also have six children. These bar stools surround our island bar and this is where the children eat their meals. The bar stools are beautiful, but simply and durably made. They clean up easily and are sturdy enough to keep wiggly bottoms safe. After a year of use by six children, there is no damage to the stools.
