Backless stool makes our kitchen look so much bigger. They tuck right under the counter-height bar area. Comfort is fine for short-term but after awhile it starts to hurt the backside. We are all on the slender side. I can't imagine a larger person liking these stools. Foot bar should be lower for the counter height stools. My knees are bent so much they hit the wall. We have been very happy with these Java counter stools. They go perfectly with our dark wood island. They tuck in pretty closely up towards the counter (closer than other styles we have seen). The lumbar support is not great, but not uncomfortable either, as long as you sit all the way back into the stool. The vinyl cushioned seat is perfect for young kids and still comfortable for adults too. Once my children are a little older, I will recover them in a nice fabric (easy to do as we noticed when putting the stools together upon arrival). My only complaint was that some of the hardware was mission upon arrival. My husband got the parts at Home Depot and Wayfair gave us a credit. Very Excellent customer service."..."  Read more

I have two of the Madison Park Spindleback stools at my kitchen counter. They are solid pieces of furniture and comfortable, and at this price, an excellent value. The finish is attractive, and the style will blend with most decor. Assembly of the chair to the legs via the swivel mechanism was straightforward. We continue to be so happy with our selection. We had seen similar barstools elsewhere, however, the construction details were not as solid as these. We purchased a very nice bar, but we wanted simpler stools than the ones that came with it, (upholstered, over-embellished). These are perfect, because they compliment the fine looks of the bar, maintain the distressed wood details without being too much, and they are super solid.
