We wanted bar stools with a very heavy base so that people would not move them in and out from the bar, leaving marks on the floor. These bar stools accomplish that objective. The base is heavy enough that people find it easier to simply turn to the side to get in and out of the seat. We got these for our new kitchen and they look great with all the stainless in the kitchen. The leather and the finish are very good. The only thing you should be aware of is the height adjustability. When you sit on the stool it sinks down a couple of inches from your selected hieght.
