I was looking for an attractive, inexpensive stool with no arms and a swivel. This fits the bill perfectly IF you can get all four legs to fit into the seat bottom at once. I ordered 3 stools and had the same problem with all 3. The trick was to VERY loosely assemble the cross piece that holds two legs together. The leg pegs are just not cut precisely at the correct angle. I would recommend this chair if you are looking for a decent inexpensive swivel bar stool. One box arrived totally beaten up and the washers were scattered on my front porch. The packing seemed too flimsy for the weight of the chair."..."  Read more

The Melanie bar stool is a nice looking aluminum stool that is a great, low cost alternative to the more expensive aluminum Stools you'll find at higher end designer stores. That said the quality, though not awful, is surely not as good. The grinding on the welds was not super consistent and there's slight variation between stools. However, you really have to look closely to notice these differences. In a nutshell, I'm quite happy with these stools and the value. I was truly blown away by these barstools. We took a complete shot in the dark hoping these would be a decent buy sight unseen -- were they ever! My husband and I could not believe the quality and great design of these stools. What impressed us even more was how they were handled/shipped. Not ONE SINGLE SCRATCH because they were so well packed. It took forever to unwrap the bubble wrap but so worth it in the end to have 5 perfect condition (and i do mean perfect) barstools arrive.
