Bought these bar stools for a bar I just built for my basement. After going to various stores with floor models I discovered just how pricey bar stools can be. After doing a bit of online shopping I came across these stools that go well with my wood heavy basement bar decor. The price of five of these stools was about the same as one bar stool of similar style in the stores. I was skeptical as to the quality because of the cheap price but once I assembled them they are sturdy and have a decent mass to them much to my surprise even. We were searching for stools for our kitchen island, and wanted a style with a back on the stool, but that would still allow the stool to slide completely under the island counter without the seat back or anything else sticking out beyond the counter top when the stool was not in use. We found plenty of great stools with a back, but they wouldn't fit under the island counter. These stools are perfect. Very comfortable and very well built. We weren't sure if the low back on the stool would be high enough to be usable and provide enough support and comfort. Our kitchen is very French bistro, but I am modern. the bar stools are shiny, not fit in our kithen well, but it is not the bar stool's fault. I read lots of the reviews, and agree with all. Still 5 stars, the price is a' can't beat'. Good quality, easy assemble. The seats smell a couple of days (I call it 'made in China' smell - they are made in China. Kind of cheap leather or leather like smell. If you have a contemporary kitchen and don't want to spend a lot on bar stools, but need bar stools, this is a great buy."..."  Read more
