Bought these bar stools for a bar I just built for my basement. After going to various stores with floor models I discovered just how pricey bar stools can be. After doing a bit of online shopping I came across these stools that go well with my wood heavy basement bar decor. The price of five of these stools was about the same as one bar stool of similar style in the stores. I was skeptical as to the quality because of the cheap price but once I assembled them they are sturdy and have a decent mass to them much to my surprise even. Like most people I bought one first to check it out, then bought three more. They are not that difficult to put together, but with allen wrenches everything takes a bit longer and power tools wouldn't work as well in this case anyway. They are larger than they appear - the cushion seems to be at least 16" in diameter, but I have not measured it. This extra size makes it feel oh-so-comfy. We bought these to be used at a breakfast bar opposite the kitchen island. When not in use they tuck neatly under the counter so don't really take up that much room. We had thought about getting stools with backs on them, but were glad we didn't since swiveling would cause the back to smash into the counter and we are the kind of people who really like to swivel. I am pretty sure it would be hard to beat these stools in the comfort category. Good height for average size people to just "slide on". The little footies are covered with a plastic coating so they won't scratch wood floors, but just in case we added some of those little sticky pads anyway. My kids love the chair, so I am keeping the one I bought and you can't beat the price. I only bought one to see if it would work. Wanted something that could be used interchangeably between a regular kitchen height counter and an extra tall counter. We have two different height counters in our basement. Needed something that could be at the 26" height and at a 33" height. The website says the seat goes up to 33" height. Mine was at 31" and when you sit on it, it goes down to 30 inches. I think that drop in height is common for all air lift stools. So, keep that in mind when ordering these and you will be fine. Also, some people complained about the depth of the seat. The seat curves in the front, but at the deepest portion, it is about 16 inches."..." Read more
