I was hesitant to buy any furniture without first seeing and touching it. My wife noticed that this piece was built in North Carolina and told me that she had heard from her father that North Carolina is known for its quality furniture. This piece lives up to that recommendation! The wood and varnish appear to be excellent quality. The construction is perfectly aligned and operates smoothly. There is a nice removable tray in addition to the drawer - you can just see in the photo online - it is sitting on the shelf on the left-hand side of the interior (the drawer is on the right).
