In 1940, Edward Joel Barcolo acquired a license to manufacture "scientifically articulated" motion chairs patented by Dr. Anton Lorenz. In 1966, the newly recognized Barcalounger introduced "Designer Recliners," styles created by well-known designers such as Raymond Loewry. Now in 2008 new pop-up low profile multifunction furniture.
