Great! Just used this strainer for the first time, and it worked exquisitely well. There is so much less work with this tool. It removed the waste and nothing more. My only comment, and this is to the company: tell us not to turn the handle before loading with food earlier in the pamphlet. We cranked it quite a bit before reading that trying to loosen it up. |

a huge time saver It makes processing the tons of tomatoes from our garden much faster. We are also able to make better use of the juice instead of having a lot of waste. |

Not so great after all... I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with this strainer. Not only is it hard to store (being bulky and awkward), but the parts are cheap plastic,it kept getting clogged up, and it leaked from two different places where it shouldn't have leaked. I tried pureeing tomatoes to make tomato sauce, but the skins kept getting clogged in the screen, and I had to continue taking the entire thing apart to clean it out. In the end, it got the job done, but it was not quick, easy, or tidy. With leaks running everywhere, including some black stuff running out of the back of the thing, I had juice on my clothes, on my walls, and all over the counter top. What a mess. Not so great after all. |

Used the Product lots, it works! This product really works well the basic screen that comes with this product. By far the easiest way to make apple sauce that I have tried. Good with tomatoes as well. I tried the pumpkin screen with Zuchini, it works but the whole process of cooking the zuchini and putting it through the machine takes a while. |

Good tool for the fall harvest kitchen The Sauce Maker works very well. Tomato chunks go in and tomato sauce comes out, just like to information suggests. Really no need to blanch and peel tomatoes. I am a little disappointed in the plastic handle, corkscrew shaft, anchor nut, and pestle. They seems too fragile to last long with regular use. |

Great Back to Basics Food Strainer This product cuts time in half (at least) for making and canning sauces. No peeling or coring, just quarter up clean raw tomatoes and load up the hopper. The crank is almost effortless to turn. Perfect sauce comes out one spout, seeds and skins out into the waste. Also makes perfectly textured applesauce. I like it so much I sent one as a gift. |
