South Shore Back Bay Platform Bedroom Collection
Great but heavy product, but totally worth it!

Okay, so when the instructions say it takes 2 people to put this together, they aren't kidding! It takes at least one really strong person and one person who is quick with a screwdriver. Whoever thought let's tell them to put the trim around the edge last! is cruel and mean! You get the whole (VERY HEAVY) thing put together and then you have to tilt the whole thing on it's side while you screw in like 5 screws on one side and then do the same on the other and then again on the other because trying to screw them in straight up while laying on your back is seriously IMPOSSIBLE. Assembly aside, the bed is great! We love it, it's structurally sound and super comfortable and quiet! All of which our previous bed was not! You really can't beat the quality for the price! There was one scrape on the trim of the wood that wasn't major and we'll probably just color in with a brown marker and you'll never notice it. So overall it's a great product just expect to spend a couple hours of hard work on it!
Meh, it's OK

I'm giving it three stars because I can't give it two and a half. The Pros are: it's relatively cheap and it provides firm support. But, you get what you pay for. The materials are, of course, cheap; the particle board that operates as the platform is slightly larger than my queen mattress, leaving a rim where you can see that particle board; the edges of the bed, while rounded, are still perfect for smacking your legs right above the ankles (if you have a small bedroom, like I have); and lastly, the directions for putting together the bed are poor. I don't understand why manufacturers can't includes those things ... what are they called ... oh yeah, words, in their directions, rather than a photo that kind of looks like the materials. You'll be left wondering, why are there so many holes, why do I have a bunch of dowels left, etc? Anyway, you'll need two people to put this together. It took us about an hour and 20 minutes.
South Shore Back Bay Platform Bed
Linda from Maplewood, NJ– Verified Buyer
This bed looks nice once completed. However it was not easy to assemble because the frame was not square, resulting in the platform panels not lining up at the top and bottom. I had to remove, reposition and refasten the panels several times. The instructions tell you to install the outer platform panels first, but when you do that the last interior panel won't fit. Also, the moldings had to be fastened from underneath because the bed was too heavy to flip upside down. As there are no pilot holes in the molding, it is nearly impossible to get the screws into the wood all the way, especially from such an awkward position. A short phillips screwdriver is required, and you can't get much torque on it from underneath. Definitely a 2 person job. The manufacturer needs to rethink the assembly process; needs improvement.
Affordable and stylish bed
Fernando from USA– Verified Buyer
This bed is affordable and very nice for my temporary usage. It is extremely sturdy and makes no noise at all, especially coupled with my casper foam bed. I would highly recommend for those looking for a nice looking bed that don't want to spend a lot of money.
Good for the price but a couple flaws
KC from VA– Verified Buyer
Bed was fairly easy to put together, maybe an hour with one person assembling and the other reading instructions and holding the pieces in place. Two minor complaints. One, a couple screw holes were off and didn't match up with pieces underneath. Only affected the look of the bed in the back where the wood lines up but still frustrating. We also found a thin but very long crack going down the center of one of the planks. We are hoping that it doesnt get worse over time. Also, be aware of the weight capacity with this bed. We were a little concerned about 2 guests and a dog sleeping on this, especially with the small crack. Lastly, as other reviewers said, this bed is staying where you assemble it. I have no idea how we're going to move this bed next time we move as it will not fit through the door or down the staircase. Most likely it will have to be taken apart. Just hope it can be put back together soundly!
best choice bed frame
Gladys from Moscow, ID– Verified Buyer
For the price this is a great bed frame. It helps to have two people for putting it together. Even a second person for reading the instructions helps. The box is very heavy but it came earlier then expected and within an hour it was assembled. It doesn't slide well so I recommend putting it together in the place where you want it. We used it for a memory foam pad and it fit well and was just right.

I ordered this bed a few days before I was to move to into my new apartment and I love it! It's sturdy, comfortable, and delivery was quick. It took us a couple of hours to put it together though. We got stuck on one part. Overall it's a great bed.

Plaform is solid. It's nice it goes to the floor then you don't have to worry about dust buunies collecting under the bed, which was the main reason we bought it. The reason I gave it 4 stars was the color isn't exactly like the picture online and it didn't come with the pads to go on the bottom of the bed to to prevent the floor from scratching . We just added our own pads that we had. If you have carpet that probably wouldn't be a big deal. It does take a little while to assemble, but my husband didn't mind. Overall we really like this purchase.
Great price for an Ikea-esque Product
Olivia from Alexandria, VA
For starters, I'm a big Ikea fan, so this isn't a knock on the product. I couldn't find what I wanted at Ikea so I thought I would give this product a try. It was packaged pretty well and I was impressed how it was packaged, but a corner was chipped, most likely from the shipping and the weight. I still would have given this 5 stars despite the one cracked corner, but what knocked off one of the stars is that this took us half a day to put it together because the instructions were not entirely correct. We had to put about 10% of it together per instruction, and then the next instruction had the pieces switched. We just hoped that it wouldn't matter if we tried putting it together with the instruction booklet as a loose guide. We then had to redrill some holes, despite it telling us you did not need a drill. I think with just a screwdriver it would have taken much longer and some of the holes did not line up to what it needed to attach to, so a drill was needed. All in all, not bad for the price you pay, I wasn't looking for something permanent but temporary until I found/built the bedframe I want.
Looks great, works perfect

This platform is working out great! The materials are heavy, and it helps to have at least 2 people to put it together. We had 3 (granted two of us weren't handy at all), so that made it even easier.
