It seems to keep the wine at a good and consistent temperature. The fan goes on about every 15 seconds to keep the interior cool and it is noisy. That is the only negative so far. Was this helpful? This model is built 1000% better and the wooden shelves have an excellent glide mechanism that makes it a pleasure. Having a lock is "key" not just because I have teens in the house, but to prevent my father-in-law from accidentally opening another 2002 Cakebread Cab when he was looking for a $5 chablis!!
