Looks nice, but the shelf placement could be better
Tina from Seattle,WA – Verified Buyer
I bought this to store our dvds and blu-rays. Unfortunately the shelves are different heights on the very top and bottom which limits those shelves to only storing blu-rays. We wanted to keep our blu-rays separate from the regular dvds and keep them in alphabetical order. Not possible with the shelves provided and placement of shelves. We literally had to pull out all the shelves except for the center shelf that's structural and just stack dvds on top of each other in order to maximize the storage. It doesn't look particularly amazing but it's the best we could do. The actual case looks really nice with the glass doors sliding easily. There were a few places on the bottom of the shelf that were not sticking as well so the "varnish" was coming away from the board. Not a huge deal because I can just add some more glue, but it was a little disappointing. We do plan to buy another one to fit the rest of our dvds because it looks nice from he outside.
Clearly designed for CDs
Michael from Slidell, LA – Verified Buyer
This cabinet was clearly designed for CDs (which is what my intent was all along). It comes with seven shelves, and if spaced evenly, the height is perfect for CDs. Putting it together was a little more difficult than I expected. I needed to take a knife and trim the sides of some of the slots where the wheels for the doors go. Not too difficult, just time consuming. In short, one of the pieces of wood near the corner did not align quite properly and obstructed part of the slot. The other assembly note is that the cabinet feels very flimsy until the shelves are put in. I also found it was easier to put the back on before the shelves and doors, even though the assembly instructions state otherwise.

It's a bit flimsier than expected, doors can come off with not to much effort and looks to be a straight black finish but description made it sound like something else, Not what I was expecting HOWEVER you get what you pay for and this was relatively inexpensive. On a positive note it is serving its purpose.
Cabinet 'Looks' Just Fine.... BUT !!!!
Mr. Z. from Tampa, Florida – Verified Buyer
I think if I had had the opportunity to see this cabinet fully assembled WITH the doors attached and seeing them function, there is just no way I would have bought it. This is one of those times when a cabinet's attractiveness and its functionality do NOT go hand in hand. If I had known how difficult it would be to access the DVDs in middle of each level... If I had known that I never would have gone thru all those 'hoops' to attach the bits and pieces that belong on the doors, much less actually put the doors on their respective notches or rails. In point of fact, after the dorrs were finally in place, WITH the DVDs also in place on the top 3 shelves, I couldn't wait to remove the sliding doors. The design is all wrong. These doors most certainly should have been made to swing OUTWARDS, like most kitchen cabinets. I still have the doors, but it may very well be just a matter of time, before I toss them out with the rest of my week's trash. I spent a significant amount of USDs for this cabinet. I won't do THAT again, ever !

I'm using this primarily as a display case for some action figures and miniatures and it works great. The sliding doors allow it to be used in my small bedroom because the overall footprint is very small. Tips: 1) use a vacuum to clean off the styrofoam bits off each piece. 2) read the instructions two steps ahead to make sure the pieces are set up correctly for the next steps. 3) glass doors are removable and you need to remove them to place the shelves 4) weighs around 35-40 pounds when put together. Build it close to where you're going to put it. 5) it is not very sturdy until you screw the backing on. 6) the shelves fit small books, but not the full size hardcovers or comics. I found it an excellent deal for a nice piece of furniture.
Great for the price!

I was also leary about ordering this unit with all the bad reviews on it, but it's all about one's expectations for the price paid. [$] really does not buy one a high quality piece of furniture, so I'm very happy with what I got for that price.I applied rice-paper patterned window film to the insides of the doors before assembling and it hides the media behind the glass somewhat(wished I could have found a more opaque window film to block out entirely) -- it looks good, and sooooo much better than what I had before! We live in a high end house in a high end neighbourhood (but we don't have high-end pocketbooks, to everyone's surprise...) -- and it totally fits in with the look of the modern space. I would have preferred it to be wider and shorter for the exact spot we needed it for, but for the price - I'm not going to complain!I put cream-colored porcelain candle holders and an 'urn' of sorts on top of it, against a light taupe wall with a big picture of greenery above it -- has a bit of an asian vibe while also looking modern.Tx to the manufacturer for finally making 'pretty CD storage'!P.S. Do yourself a favour and open and clean on a non-carpeted floor; was very dusty and zillions bits of styrofoam.

The biggest con would be the situation of the shelves. Since you have to build it with one shelf screwed in place in the middle of the cabinet, it doesn't give proper spacing for dvds. It only allows 3 shelves, including the permanent one, with the height of a dvd. It may work better if you are buying it for blu-rays or cds but we bought it with the intention of just storing dvds. We finally decided to just turn some on their sides in order to fit everything inside it. It also took several hours for me to build it by myself. I would give yourself plenty of time when you get started. It looks very nice once put together and all of the pieces came in perfect condition. At first I thought I built it wrong but it was very unstable but once the back was put on, it fixed itself. I just put it together so I'm not sure how it will hold up over time but I hope for the best.

I bought 2 of these to house our media, they look nice and hold a good amount of media, my complaint is that it is not as sturdy and I would have liked and the doors do not close very well. If the door is closed at the top, then there is a gap at the bottom and one door does not stay closed it will go back a couple inches after you close it. Overall, it was a okay buy for the price.
Atlantic windowpane cabinet
Jeff Blazejovsky from Vernon Rockville, CT – Verified Buyer
I received this cabinet a couple of weeks ago. The directions are a little vague but anyone with experience in putting together furniture out of the box should have no problem. It took me about 2 hrs. to fully assemble the piece. When it was done, it was a very nice looking piece of furniture. I had one problem with it though. One of the sliding doors didn't quite close flush with the side of the unit. There was about a 1/2 inch gap. I only found this out after the piece was fully assembled, and didnt feel like taking it apart and sending it back again. I called Wayfair and they offered to send me a new door or take $20.00 off my full price, which I took.
Looks nice; does the job

Firstly, the disappointment. When searching on the web site, I used the "hardwood" filter, as I wanted a hardwood CD cabinet. I was surprised but delighted at the low price of this one, and it turns out I should have been more skeptical. This cabinet is made from particle board, and not particularly high density particle board, either. I was not disappointed enough to return it - CDs are light enough that it should be okay, but I was disappointed. It went together fairly easily, but be careful when attaching the back board, as even when it is carefully centered the screw holes line up with the inner edges of the boards below, with no room to spare. The wood of the sides bulge as the screws go in from the back, and this happens on both sides, so you cannot prevent this just by centering the back more carefully. Also be careful to have the sides of the cabinet right way up, as if you do not, two of the spaces between shelves will be too small to hold CD's. The top and bottom of the sides look identical but the sides themselves are not. The doors are beautiful and run smoothly. The latches that allow the doors to be lifted in and out are nice. Lifting the doors off to pack the cabinet and then replacing them afterwards was easy and efficient. I would recommend this to a friend but would warn them not to expect hardwood and to assemble it carefully.
