Good value but room for improvement
Neil from ,– Verified Buyer
This storage unit is not stable unless you fasten it to the wall (using the supplied hardware). If you do not fasten to wall, it is much too wobbly and could easily fall if you (or a dog) bumped against it. The wall fastening is not optional for this unit-- it is required!
Great Organizer, Very Well Priced!

The only thing I could even remotely call a negative about this is that the spacing of the holes allows too much room at the top of the standing DVDs, which cuts down on the number of shelves available for them. You can only get 21 DVDs per shelf if they are standing I got around this by creating a stack of 14 or 15 with 7 or 8 standing next to them in each section. It only adds 2 or 3 per section, but when you have as many as I do, every little bit helps, when there is only room for 8 shelves (times 3, of course)- it's the difference between storing 552 and the advertised 504...of course, some cases are wider than others, but in general, that is significant. Possibly the holes (for the placement of the shelves) are designed to allow 10 layers for CDs...but they do waste a lot of space when fitting in the movies. OTHER THAN THAT - it is a nice-looking finished piece, does not intrude on the floor space and could almost look like it was a built-in if properly placed and I imagine that if you have enough wall space for two of them, it would make an impressive looking wall. The back is sturdier than many other shelving units, which I appreciate. I would get another in a heartbeat if I could rearrange my room to accommodate it. I would warn you that it is VERY heavy- at 4'10 and 67 yrs of age, I could not have handled it by myself, at all, but I am lucky to have a friend whose son put it together for me. He had an electric drill with a screwdriver attachment, so it went pretty quickly...even with conversation, breaks, and having to remove the back and turn it over (be aware of which side you nail down!), it only took a little over 2 hours from starting the process, which included him laying out every item in the box, getting every piece in order, reading the instructions every step of the way, to putting it in place. AND he had to put up with me asking him questions about everything he did, which I am certain added at least 30-45 minutes to his task. All in all, I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone with a large collection of movies andor music. (I put furniture moving sliders under it before placing and filling it, on the off-chance that I want to shift its position at some point. As I said, it is VERY heavy, even empty.)
I love these shelves!
David from New York, NY– Verified Buyer
My roommate and I have a total of 7 of these shelves, and everybody asks us where we got them because they're absolutely perfect. We live in NYC, and space is extremely limited to say the least, and these shelves do not waste an inch of space. What would make them beyond perfect, in my opinion, would be to have them go even higher, adding another foot at the top for an additional row of dvds or two additional rows of cds, but that's not really a complaint, just a dream, because we've run out of space for shelves, but our purchasing habits haven't changed, so we've just stacking things on top now. The shelves are very sturdy on the ground, no need for wall-mounting, although if you're going to move them from apartment to apartment or house to house, I definitely recommend more than the provides nails along the back support-wall and even taping them down just in case. We've moved them three times over the past 5 years, and they've held up surprisingly well, considering we haven't hired professional movers, didn't use twine or bungee cords, etc. What I love most about them is that they free up a lot of space for other things, since they hold so much, it clears up other areas of the apartment.

This storage cabinet is PERFECT for my DVDs and BluRays. I put it together easily and filled it with all my movies....600 at least..which included sets and series combos. Although I have a small collection of music CDs in the cabinet (because most of my music is on my computer, phone and ipad) I am sure this storage unit would hold tons of CDs. It is sturdy but it needs to be mounted to the wall. I love that it has a small footprint. Mine is installed in an entry hallway and it is convienent and even nice looking.
Wonderful Media Tower Option
Katharine Crandell from Charlotte, MI– Verified Buyer
My Atlantic Espresso Media Tower is beautiful. I had my doubts (along with several other units) when surfing the internet, but this one really shines. All of the exposed "wood" surfaces (other than the back) are covered and every disk has an unobstructed view. I also loved the option to anchor the unit to the wall with the supplied hardware; however, I did not utilize it. Upon receiving the package, some damage from shipping was apparent via a hole near one end of the box (about the width of a couple of fingers). To my surprise, the contents of the package were not disturbed. I gave four stars because the back was a little hard to line up. I didn't have any issues with nails coming through, but I did notice one of the cam locks had slightly ripped out of place after flipping the unit over and standing it up. I'm not sure if I am to blame since I thought the cam lock was tightened enough, but it is a concern of mine. All in all, you can bet that I will be getting one of these if I ever need another media tower. I will just have to remember to use power tools on the screws for attaching the bases to the appropriate walls as well as supporting the middle of the unit when it is faced down.
Great for books, CDs and DVDs
Dana from Colorado Springs,– Verified Buyer
This hold so much! There are a lot of shelves that can all be used or only use what you need. They adjust easily to accommodate the height of different things. I suggest having help lifting it after putting it together because the size of it makes it unstable. Remember to attach it to the wall for safety.
Does a good job for what it was designed for.

As most reviewers have stated this product from Atlantic has gone the way of cheap-cost savings. Shelves have been shaved down thinner than before and less depth. I have similar cabinets from years ago that have a much better build than this one, but the price was low and the dimensions were exactly what I needed.
robert from smithers BC– Verified Buyer
The rack is great. The only thing I would change would be the anchors that hold the screws, they are totally useless and I replaced them with ones that work and had to add wood glue to secure ithem. The unit now looks great and is serving the purpose for which it was bought.Packing could have been more secure and I had to replace studs that hold the shelves as so many were missing through a hole in the cardboard box in which it came.other than that it's fine.
Great DVD Storage Unit
James from Rio Rancho, NM– Verified Buyer
I ordered this DVD storage unit with the idea that if I liked it, I would order a second unit. It was reasonably priced and the description of the unit and reviews I read, indicated to me that this is what I needed. It was delivered within 5 days and it was easy to assemble. Although a bit flimsy, it anchors well to the wall and it is sturdy enough to handle 504 DVD's with no problem. I liked it so much that I indeed ordered the second unit. I definitely would recommend this product to DVD, Blu-ray, and or CD collectors.
Functional but flimsy
Brian from Chesapeake, VA– Verified Buyer
This is my third of this particular media cabinet, and while they are functional, they are a bit on the flimsy side. I can see how it keeps the cost down, but assembling must be done very gingerly otherwise the upper & lower halves of the cabinet will separate while tacking on the back panel. Thankfully I don't intend to do anything more than cram all three full of various media, but I do believe that buyers should be aware that the unit is not heavy duty.
