YOU LIGHT UP MY ISLAND!
michael from plainfield, NJ – Verified Buyer
I really like these lights. Perfect for a kitchen as they take 3 100w bulbs. Highly recommend a dimmer if you are going with 100w. We bought 2 of these for an island that is 102x52 and they light the entire thing. They are pretty wide so 3 would be too much for an island this size or smaller. We've received a lot of compliments on these lights as they are a totally unique style. Retro schoolhouse shade style, but totally modernized and sleek. Perfect to modernize an old home. Ours is 110 years old, but the kitchen and rest of home are more mid-century modern style and these fit right in. My only 2 complaints about these are- The canopy is over 1" high, but the screws are small. If your electrical box is set back a little into the ceiling, you'll need longer screws. Secondly, the top of these is unfinished white metal.. Basically looks like the back of a flush mount ceiling light. You definitely cannot mount these low. In addition, the shade attaches below the rim, so you see the rim of the metal. These would be best if the shade mounted over the metal bracket. But, keep them a little high and not noticeable. For the money though, these are stylish and functional.
