Brooklyn-based designer Jason Miller is known for drawing on everyday aspects of American culture to create contemporary designs that could just as easily be conceptual art. The Seconds Set of Four Dinner Plates takes its name from the term "seconds" for products that are considered not quite right. Jason Miller challenges conventional ideas about product design: decorations can be off-center, upside-down or halved, and the item becomes all the more compelling and special. These dinner plates feature traditional bird decorations intentionally applied as a "mistake" to create contemporary, dynamic pieces.
