This rug has beautiful colors, the background is a nice coffee brown and the blues are a very lovely turquoise. I bought this rug to match a bedding set I had purchased on here and it's spot on. The rug is a low pile, which works perfect for me. The backing slips, so you will want a no slip mat for this if you're laying it on hard floors. There was no odor on mine, I think some people are just hyper senstitive. It had a slight "plastic" smell from being wrapped so well but it wasn't horrendous and dissapated within minutes.
