We were a little perplexed on why the hamper just seems to sit on the base and doesn't screw into the base. The hamper, even prior to setting the bottom pieces into each bottom section, is extremely sturdy. The canvas bags are thick and stay perfectly secure once set onto the velcro, even with clothes loaded to the top. As always Wayfair is just an amazing company.
