Amber Sporting Goods Legged Grappling Dummy
jack the ripper
Curt Hynek from Swisher, IA– Verified Buyer
My son is using this dummy for freestyle wrestling technique not mma. It ripped at the neck on the third night. It has not been abused and we were not even pulling on the head instead focusing on leg attacks. It just ripped at the seam and opened up. Very disappointed with the construction as now the arms are beginning to rip open. Do not waste your money, spend a little more and buy something of higher quality.

One problem. The dummies are beginning to come apart at the mid-section/ belt line. The place where the upper and lower body come together. I have not put much abuse to the dummy, so I am a little unsure.

The stitching started to tear at the midline on the very first day we used it. Had to apply glue and duct tape to the tear to keep it together.
Depends on needs

The dummy is good for practicing with however, I was disappointed with how stiff he is. The outer material is canvas like most heavy bags so you need to use gloves if worried about marking up hands. Arms and legs are very stiff so it's not good for armbars or some leg work. Very top heavy and wide chested so not able to stand on it's own freely for solo work. My main problem with it is height. The majority of people I work with are very short, myself included. We are all under 5'2 so it's hard for us to work with a 5'6 dummy. I love working with it for a lot of cardio drills and pins. I use it mainly to teach my daughter and her friends grappling work.

I purchased this for my son. [...] I was very disappointed when I received this. It is not made out of synthetic leather but a canvas type material and definitely not worth the money. The dummy is too tall for my son to use and weighs 87lbs(we weighed it) and is supposed to be a 70lb dummy. Very disappointed and a waste of money.
Great price for a great item!

The product itself is good. If you're not a big dude, don't get anything higher than 90lbs. I got a 120lbs and its a little on the heavy side. [...]
Great dummy for throws

Love the dummy, it was a lot cheaper than the leather version and I think it will last a long time. His arms are a bit stiff and unflexable and he has no neck but that goes for almost all dummies. Well worth the money.
Excellent Training Tool

We use this for MMA, Kickboxing, and Conditioning training. We bought the 90lb legged grappling dummy. The height of this dummy is ideally suited for kickboxers between 5'5" to 6'0". For those who are using the dummy to train for wrestling, they may want a shorter dummy (around 5'3"). We mainly use this dummy to train body throws. People like to prop it up so that they could practice their stand up with it also. We've had it for 1 month, and so far it's shown to be extremely durable. This was an excellent purchase.
