If you're sitting near it in a regular height chair, you can see the silver colored brackets and screws that were use to fasten the rungs and legs together. We took a complete shot in the dark hoping these would be a decent buy sight unseen -- were they ever! My husband and I could not believe the quality and great design of these stools. What impressed us even more was how they were handled/shipped. Not ONE SINGLE SCRATCH because they were so well packed. It took forever to unwrap the bubble wrap but so worth it in the end to have 5 perfect condition (and i do mean perfect) barstools arrive.
