Love the bed; beware the "free shipping" jingle
Belinda from Arlington, TX – Verified Buyer
Received the bed in record time. It was definitely easy to assemble, for the most part; took very little time. However the openings in the frame to secure the bed rails are very narrow. If we hadn't had a rubber mallet that we could use to whack the rails into the frame, it wouldn't have worked. I know they are trying to make sure the frame is secure. But it was pretty difficult to get the rails onto the headboard and footboard. Nice bed for the price. Perfect for the guest room. I was however, disappointed to see that this item was not one of the "free shipping" items. It cost almost as much to ship this as the bed itself. My fault for not checking my order better. I just assumed the shipping was free. I think their commercial and jingle are little deceptive. Free shipping on orders over $49 and "most" furniture (with a big old asterisk). As much as I like this bed, not sure I will be ordering anything else from Wayfair. I probably should have gone to one of the furniture store outlets and gotten away for less money. And not had to wait on delivery.
Great Customer Service!

This item came extremely fast and even though one of the pieces was defective/damaged, I am beyond satisfied at how the company responded when I called. I was dreading having to repackage and send back the huge box (especially since the nearest FedEx is 45 minutes away), but they are sending me a replacement part completely hassle-free, and I don't have to worry about sending back the defective/damaged one. I would definitely recommend this company for their customer service alone, and that's why I gave this product 5 starts. The bed seems to be pretty nice from what I've seen of it. I haven't been able to assemble it yet due to having the damaged headboard. My only slightly negative comment is that the color is darker from what is pictured, and I am now questioning the quality of the product after seeing the damaged piece. I would give the product alone 4 stars, but for the price, I am pleased. You get what you pay for when it comes to quality, and since I'm using this as a guest bed, I didn't need the top of the line.
It is what it is!

I read the reviews prior to purchasing the bed, so I anticipated the added costs costs of reinforcing the mattress support. I bought some 1/2 inch plywood sheathing and wood screws for around $21 and fixed the problem. The bed cost $365 and included free shipping. So I'm all in this bed at $385. And yes, you will need to shore up this platform with plywood or more slats. Trust me. Also, if you use a box spring, the mattress will sit too high on the headboard. Now let's talk about the product. Look, it's a good-looking,cheap bed. I'm not knocking it because I expected exactly what I received. It suits my needs. However, if you are looking for a long-lasting, daily use bed, then you are looking at the wrong product. This is a mass produced piece of furniture. The side rails will flex and reverberate when bumped. It is not a solid, sturdy bed. The stain on my headboard is jacked up, but my mattress covers it. If you are wondering what I mean when I talk about the stain on my headboard, it appears that some paint thinner or another type of solvent was spilled on the headboard and then re-stained. The platform design is solid, but to keep down costs, the slats are made from strips of plywood; not hardwood. Therefore, the need for the additional support. The look of the bed matches the product pictures. The stain may very slightly, but not a lot. In regards to the delivery, everything was great. The product arrived quickly, and was well packaged. There wasn't any damage or missing pieces. So, outstanding job there. In closing, the bed fits the price point. If you want to spend $200 more, you can get a much better bed. Don't be afraid to buy the bed, just be prepared to make the improvements.
Bed and Board
Patricia from Scotts Valley, CA – Verified Buyer
The bed was easy to assemble; however, the slats to support the mattress that came with the bed were not very strong and there were not enough (3). In fact, one board actually broke from my weight and I am not a heavy person. My son replaced the 2 remaining slats with six 2X4 boards which now supports the mattress perfectly. Now I am happy. I love the look of the bed and the ease of getting into a lower bed. But I recommend the manufacturer use stronger and at least 6 support boards with this bed model.

Was a good buy only down fall and it is a big one is the bed slats are very weak. The bed is together now so I could not take it apart to send it back. I love the look of bed but have a dilemma now. I would think I need to beef up the bed with more slats that are of stronger wood. That means more money to spend. So what is made today with total quality Like your selections and variety that you carry but need to research your product a little more. Wish I did not have to do a repair, if it was store bought so I could have sat or laid down on it to see it's strength before I purchased it. So if you are handy and know that you need to spend extra after the fact it is a beautiful bed.
West haven sleigh bed
Robert from Brooklyn Park, MN – Verified Buyer
Really surprised at how sturdy this bed is. This was my biggest concern as I am a fairly large man. It's held up well and doesn't creak and moan at all.
Dr. from Eugene, OR – Verified Buyer
The bed is very poorly constructed. The side panels are very thin and, after only three months, they began bowing outward. It only came with three very slender slats, which weren't enough to support the box springs or mattress. I ended up having to buy additional slats. Every night, I have to realign the bed and push in the side rails, so I don't fall through the frame and onto the floor, as I did the first few weeks I had the frame. This product should be taken off of the inventory. The quality is poor and is not suitable for a 180lb adult. Since I cannot submit this with 0 stars, I'm grudgingly giving one star and in the hope that no one else has to suffer through the same experience that I have had with this bed frame.

Received the bed in two day -- as promised, even though second day was a holiday. The bed assembly was pretty shaight forward. The bed fully assembled appears to be a little frail, but it is a very sturdy and great looking bed. I was very impressed with the quality. and the price -- come on, not gonna be it anywhere. Def thinking about buying another for guest room. My king mattress set doesn't fit snuggly, but that's not a complaint
Vicki from Clarksville, TN – Verified Buyer
I ordered this bed to replace a simple metal frame in the guest room. It came well packaged, so the there was no damage, and the shipping was fast. The bed is beautiful; it is real wood, with excellent finish. It came with three slats, and has been sturdy enough to hold a sleeping 200 lb person. It is rated to hold more weight. I am going to add a couple extra slats because I can. Using it with a mattress and box spring makes it a tall bed. My only concern are the joints where the side rails plug into the headboard/footboard. They are snug, but I see a 1 mm gap in one. So far it has held. The side rails are thinner than I would have expected, but I would buy another one if I needed it.
Good bed for the price
Lorraine from California
It is fine. I wanted this one specifically, because there is good clearance on the bottom for storage since I have a smaller home. The price point is perfect. I don't like spending too much for items sight unseen on furniture. For the price point of the bed the quality is good. We used slats from our old bed to use with the slats from this bed to give extra support. This is something I would recommend doing (having enough slats).
