I put these wall sonces on the wall of an old house I own, built in 1926. I didn't want to tear up the walls to hard wire them, so this was the solution, and they look beautiful. I bought this as a reading light for a chair I have in my bathroom and I love it. I has such a delicate shape and the materials are so interesting, particularly the grey rubber covering the flexible stem. I was concerned that the silver finish wouldn't work with the chrome finish I have throughout the bathroom but it looks great, like a piece of art. The light is strong but self-contained. And I really like that the transformer is in the base, rather than attached to a plug like so many of the led reading lights. I did not have to convert anything to hardwire this light.
