I was looking for a durable serving bowl that was easier to handle and in a brighter color than my very durable, but heavy, Emile Henry pieces. I love the lighter weight of this bowl and the color is stunning, but it unfortunately was not very chip resistant. Not terrible, but not heavy duty either. Hand wash VERY carefully and if you have granite countertops (as I do), be very careful putting it down. One tap the wrong way and a chip came off the bottom of the bowl.
That said, I would still buy more Waechtersbach IF I found it on sale. It is as expensive as Emile Henry but not as durable, but certainly much more durable than beautiful, expensive, and extremely flimsy Tracy Porter pieces."..." Read more
