Playseats founder and director Fernando Smit has always had a need for speed. In fact, Smit was the Dutch Enduro Motorcross Champion in 1997 and 1998, and drove racecars on a professional level for many years. It was his fascination with the racing world that led to the creation of the first Playseat Racing Chair. By mounting a steering wheel and pedal box to the frame of an old race seat, Smit was able to bridge the gap between the high-speed racing world and the high-tech video game industry.
Today, Playseats offers top of the line racing experiences to people worldwide--from novice video gamers, to professional drivers training for an upcoming race. Playseats has established themselves as a major sponsor to A1GP World Cup of Motorsports around the globe, including the Netherlands, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, and China. From the homemade prototype in founder and director Fernando Smit's basement, to having their logo crossing finish lines at 200 mph, Playseats has become the ultimate name in videogame chairs.
