I just had this mirror installed so I haven't used it much, but I plan to use it for makeup. It's also useful to me because I am over 60 and I don't see things clearly if they too close. This mirror is useful for me if I need to see something near and wearing glasses would be in the way. I compared this product to a number of other possibilities. I found that 5X is plenty of magnification. I don't know how anyone could see anything in a 8 or 10X. I like the light around the edge because it also helps to see things clearly. The product is well built and looks nice. I like its modern look and it is very sterdy. I use it to replace my medicine cabinet which has mirror on the door but it's hard the use the mirror."
