I bought lamp mainly 6 months ago to use for a small l-shaped hallway to use it instead of the ceiling light because when that light goes out, Ill never be able to reach it to replace it even with my step ladder. Ive also been using this lamp for extra light when needed for my lap top which is easy to pick up and place by the table. In fact, the outlet I use is in back of the table, and I also have it plugged into an extension cord which hangs over a bookcase. For my purposes, it would be much better if the lamp had the turn on button, or a switch, on the lamp post instead of on the cord. Its supposed to be stepped on to turn on the lamp. For me, I have to go back and forth to turn on the lamp. What I will say is that it was a snap to put it together although I had trouble putting in the bulb. All and all, it is a good little lamp. I needed to replace a similar lamp in my bedroom that I used for general lighting and reading (I always lie on the floor next to the bed to read). The previous lamp had an acrylic top shade and a metal shade for the reading lamp portion. This lamp has glass shades for both. It assembled easily, stands up straight, the finish is smooth and uniform, the lights and switches work, it gives off good light, and the lamp and shades look good. What more could one ask for? And the top lamp is three way,which was a pleasant surprise. You must use a three way bulb in it. The only caveat, which is not an issue for me, is that both type A light bulbs, after insertion, do stick out a slight way beyond the planes of the shades."..." Read more

I purchased the banker desk lamp for my husband's home office upon his request for a green shaded banker desk lamp. I started hunting on the internet, and this was the nicest one I could find for the right price. I chose the antique brass because I prefer that look over the shine of regular brass. The base of the lamp has some weight to it , which is a good feature. You don't have to worry about knocking it over. The base in my opinion has a very nice design to it. The lamp was not inexpensive but it was not over $100.00. I always feel like you get what you pay for. There are some green banker lamps on the market for around $30.00, and they look like a $30.00 lamp. The lamp even came with a light bulb!! My husband loves his lamp."..." Read more

I PURCHASED 2 OF THESE LAMPS. THEY ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL LAMPS THAT GO WELL WITH MY DECOR. I HAVE A LOT OF ROYAL BLUE CARPET WITH TWIN DOUBLE RECLINERS WITH LIGHT TAN AND LIGHT BROWN PATTERNS ON THEM. IT MATCHES WELL WITH THESER COLORS. I FIND OUT THE LITTLE BIT OF BEING JUST A LITTLE BIT SHORTER THAN THE REGULAR SIZE LAMP IS A GREAT PLUS. IT DOES NOT TAKE UP EXCESSIVE SPACE ON AN END TABLE. IT IS STABLE AND A LITTLE HEAVY WHICH TELLS ME IT IS MADE OF A GOOD DURABLE PRODUCT AND NOT SOME CHEAP PLASTIC.TO ME IT FELLS LIKE A HARDENED CLAY BUT DO NOT TAKE MY WORD.
