All Lamps

I bought lamp mainly 6 months ago to use for a small l-shaped hallway to use it instead of the ceiling light because when that light goes out, Ill never be able to reach it to replace it even with my step ladder. Ive also been using this lamp for extra light when needed for my lap top which is easy to pick up and place by the table. In fact, the outlet I use is in back of the table, and I also have it plugged into an extension cord which hangs over a bookcase. For my purposes, it would be much better if the lamp had the turn on button, or a switch, on the lamp post instead of on the cord. Its supposed to be stepped on to turn on the lamp. For me, I have to go back and forth to turn on the lamp. What I will say is that it was a snap to put it together although I had trouble putting in the bulb. All and all, it is a good little lamp. Ordered this lamp to replace a 15 year old lamp the painters broke. It was a great excuse to buy something more inline with the times. Lamp arrived and box was GIGANTIC. I opened it up and the metal frame was a little bit bent and one of the plastic sockets had a broken area. This was strange since the box was intact and showed no signs of damage. I was able to straighten the frame and the broken socket does not hinder the functionality so I didn't complain. More importantly all the glass was intact and looks great. The glass is actually in 3 separate pieces of 3 "balls". It doesn't come with bulbs so make sure you buy some and get the candelabra style not the globe style. The globes don't fit (don't ask how I know that). Once illuminated it looks great but depending on how you have the lamp oriented you can see a shadow of the frame. Just twist the lamp so its off to the side and you're good to go. I wouldn't pay list price but for the current selling price its worth it. Shipping this GIGANTIC box had to cost a bundle but Wayfair has free shipping so its not a concern (but surely its factored into the price). Its a substantial lamp and looks great. I have mine hooked up to an X10 dimmer that is controlled by my remote control. It ads a nice general lighting with no shadows. Perfect for watching TV."..."  Read more

I was looking for nontraditional table lamp This fit the criteria without breaking the bank. Be aware the cylinder base is acrylic. I think it will last longer with a LED bulb. (cooler burning)"
