This bronze lamp is solid metal -- heavy and sturdy, with a nice bronze luster, and a solid base that will keep the lamp from leaning.
The mechanism by which the angle of the lamp can be adjusted is a bit difficult to operate -- you turn a gear until the right angle is reached, at which point you tighten the gear until interlocking teeth mesh. Though operating this can be a bit clumsy, the upside is that once the desired angle is set, the lamp will *never* slip below that angle -- unlike lamps that use springs or some other sort of tension to keep the angle in place.
My only complaint is that the interior of the light-bulb housing is a flat white, which stands in contrast with the antique quality of the rest of the lamp. Fortunately, when the lamp is turned on, this color is hardly noticeable."..." Read more
