All Lamps

I bought this light because I was having a hard time getting up in the morning now that it doesn't get light until around 7am here (Seattle, WA area). I need to work out in the mornings and I can get up at 4:30am during the summer because it's light then. Now we're in "the dark times" here and all I want to do at 4:30am is stay in bed. This light really does brighten the room, much to my husband's dismay. But it helps me wake up sooner and, after all, it is all about me! The light is not like sunlight, but that's OK. I just need light coming on gradually until it's super bright. I keep the light about 2 1/2 - 3 feet away from me on my night stand. It doesn't heat up and it's not so bright that I can't grab it and shut it off manually, if needed. I haven't figured out how to find that "sweet spot" in the timing for exactly when I want to actually get up vs when I want the light at it's maximum. I think the downside of this light so far is that the sunrise periods are 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes and you can't vary it in between. You're stuck with the preset periods. I also wish you didn't have to go through every single setting each time you want to change the waking time on a particular day. Seems for the price they could have made setting the various features a little more sophisticated. My therapist suggested a light that had 10,000 lumins and I was to do therapy for at least 30 min a day. As I was looking at other lights I notices that the 10,000 lumins was at 6 in. That is literally almost touching it with your nose. This Day-Light Lamp is great. It has the 10K lumins at a reasonable 12 inches and the height is adjustable so the light can be at the right level whatever youre sitting on. This isnt the most decoratively appealing lamp but in my opinion it is the best lamp for delivering the light that I need. The space between the legs is just right for a book or ereader to rest and when my book is there, my face is just the right space away from the light to get what I need. I've just purchased my second lamp of this model after owning the first for 15 years. Despite what my son with autism and SAD physically dishes out, leaving this lamp on the floor at times, the lamp just keeps on running...just like that little bunny with the drum. He's moving now and we love it so much, we're keeping the old lamp (yes, it's still working!) and he's taking the new. Great lamp, especially on those long, Michigan winter days!"..."  Read more

I use this product at my desk every morning. I had a large full spectrum light but found I didn't use it because I had to get up extra early to do so and it was hard to get out of bed. Now that I have my Litebook, I can sleep longer and still do my light everyday. I love it's versatility and mobility as well as the fact that it's recharchable. It's become an office favorite. Many people struggle with depression during the winter and a good portion of my co-workers are now considering getting a light for themselves after trying mine. I can even take it in the car when I'm traveling. If I'm not driving, I can sit in the passenger seat and still get my daily light time. One caution, don't sit in front of your light after about 11 a.m. or it will mess with your night-time sleep and keep you awake. Enjoy."..."  Read more
